Gurbir Mann

VP Events


Gurbir is a 3 rd year business student with a major in Business Economics & Law. Upon completion of his Bachelor of Commerce degree Gurbir hopes to attend law school and someday work as a Crown Prosecutor. As VP Events Gurbir oversees logistically planning each event that UARC hosts. Joining UARC was an easy decision for Gurbir as he attended a majority of their events in his first year and immediately recognized all the hard work and planning that goes into running such successful events. When Gurbir is not in school he spends his time working as a legal assistant and volunteering at the
Edmonton Community Legal Center. Gurbir also enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying Edmonton’s finest patios.

Cassandra Patterson

Events Associate


Cassandra is currently in her first year of business with a major in accounting. She has recently developed an interest in real estate. She has joined the club to become involved in the enticing industry and to broaden her profile of extra-curricular involvements. Cassandra is intrigued by the number of opportunities in the industry. She is excited to expand her skill set and network as a member of the executive team. In her spare time, you'll probably find Cassandra going to spin class, grabbing a coffee with friends, or travelling with her family. Cassandra also enjoys spending time with her mentee, which she enjoys doing fun activities as a mentor of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Club of Edmonton.


Nathan Wiebe is an entrepreneurial Accounting major who is pursuing a Certificate in Real Estate. This past summer he completed a co-op as a US Tax Associate at PwC. Nathan used this opportunity to build his knowledge of real estate as a US investment and intends to pursue a career in tax accounting with a focus on real estate tax planning. Nathan’s initial interest in real estate has been focussed on the residential sector and real estate as an investment. As a Director of Events, Nathan hopes to foster environments where students can create connections with people in the industry and build their professional networks. In his free time, Nathan enjoys playing hockey, playing board games and dreaming up ways to make  a little money.

Michael Dreger-Smylie

Michael is a third-year business student currently majoring in Accounting and minoring in Marketing. In his spare time, he enjoys hockey and finds himself going to many NHL games throughout the year. He enjoys spending time with family and is a self-proclaimed Marvel nerd. Michael was surrounded by business leaders in real estate from a young age, thus laying the foundation for his interest in the industry. Upon completing his degree, he hopes to move into the real estate development industry and expects the experience he gains in the real estate committee will aide in this dream. He also hopes that with his position in events, he can use his involvement in high school committees to help in maintain current UARC events.
